Open Source?

There are two kinds of stakeholders for open source users
1) Developers who use it
2) Coprorotes who use it

Open source is developers paradise as they can see the source code and it gives them more control over the software. Most of the open source products are free. So it costs them nothing. So a developer will prefer to use open source software.

ROI (Return on Investment) is key behind any decision made by corporates. Any product which gives better ROI will be choosen against another product by Corporates. Cost includes licence fees, training the staff, down time, support etc. Earlier open source products were costing higher as getting the staff, training them and getting required support of open source products are much higher than licence fees of others. However nowadays the trend is changing. One gets supports from the open source product. There are community for the open source softwares and open source products are not always free. So open source provides almost same support and provides the product as open source.
