Selective writing

I have gone through a couple of newspapers both English and Oriya. Oriya news papers faintly report about the killing of Hindus. It says some people set fire in a village where residents are predominantly Hindus and they bolted doors of some houses while doing so. However English newspapers are mum on the same.

Why are the newspapers keeping mum in the issue? The answer I can think of is it does not suit their propaganda. They can sell idea like communal fanatic Hindus organizations are torturing the minorities. We are the watchdogs. The idea does not sell to say Hindus are attacked by minorities in a state where BJP is in power. So local papers reported the news half heartedly and English media, the so called (pseudo)secularist media, ignored it.

To put it in Gujarat Chief Minister Modi's word they have a different standard for a foreign missionary (Graham stone) and for the local Indians (the residents of Brahmini village). The former is a national shame where as the later is not news at all.

Value of life of Hindu

Orissa is in news. Mostly the corporate run english papers don't write anything about Orissa. It either covers poverty ridden deaths of oriya people or how Christians are torchered in Orissa. I can not think of any good news published about Orissa. If anybody follows the India media he would think Orissa is a place for fanatic Hindus. Let me ask some simple questions to my media friends.

1) Do they know how the incident started?
2) What is their take on lakshmananda Saraswati?
3) Do the know the number of people died because of the riots?
4) What would have been their reaction in case 40 Christians were died in stead of 40 Hindus?

Report:
In Orissa 40 Hindus who are burn alive.

The communal violence took forty innocent lives in Brahmani village, on Wednesday. The unmoving action of the ranked Police official caused the blood shed in Brahmani village. During the visit of the chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, the curfew was violated for a few moments. The relaxation in the curfew due to the visit on Chief Minister provided a chance to the Christian community. After the visit of Naveen Pattnaik, utilizing the chance fully, the Christian community hooked the doors of the Hindu houses from outside and blazed it. As per information, 12 people died unsophisticatedly in the burning houses. To disclose the violent situation of Kandhmal from the outer world, the cell phones of the Police personals were seized. According to the sources, Mohana tahasildar , Bedabara Pradhan, who was provided with the magistrate power, with drew the curfew from the locality, viewing the Chief Minister's Brahmani village visit.

Can media confirm or deny the report??

It brings back the old question what is the value of a Hindu life in Hindustan?
